Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a pragmatic People & Culture professional to oversee compliance, data-driven HR decisions, onboarding enhancements, and multi-site recruitment support. You will coach managers, lead engagement initiatives, and drive AI-enabled process improvements across fast-moving hospitality and retail environments.

The role requires independence, driving capability, and willingness to travel across sites in the South of England. CIPD qualification is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Practical People/HR experience.
• Confidence with real-world employee relations processes.
• Experience with disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, absence or capability processes.
• Hospitality/retail/QSR multi-site experience would be valuable.
• Willingness to own and work independently.
• Ability to challenge managers respectfully and use data.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Willingness to travel across South of England sites.
• CIPD qualification welcome but not required.

Job description

• Maintain oversight of right to work, visa expiries and other People compliance
• Own People dashboards and data, identify trends and turn them into action
• Keep onboarding and probation processes on track and improve them
• Monitor recruitment across KFC and Pret, supporting managers with systems, processes and good practice
• Support maternity, family-related and other People processes
• Work with external ER partner Moorepay on absence, capability and employee relations cases
• Coach managers through People processes
• Champion engagement surveys and turn results into action
• Support events, recognition, awards and development initiatives
• Turn business problems and ideas into practical solutions
• Support projects with the Managing Director, operational leaders and the above-store team
• Help Construction and Operations keep projects, actions and communications moving
• Support legal, property, marketing and operational administration for new site openings
• Support equipment orders, invoices, communications and central administration
• Visit restaurants and shops to coach managers, understand problems and implement processes
• Use AI, automation and smart technology to improve efficiency
• Report to the Head of People & Culture

Requirements

• Practical People/HR experience
• Sufficient confidence and understanding of real-world employee relations processes
• Experience or understanding of disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, absence or capability processes
• Experience in hospitality, retail, QSR or another fast-moving, multi-site operational environment would be particularly valuable
• Willingness to take ownership and work independently
• Ability to respectfully challenge managers, colleagues, suppliers and external partners
• Comfort working with data and spreadsheets
• Willingness to use AI and new technology
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel across sites in the South of England
• Ability to undertake occasional overnight stays
• CIPD qualification is welcome but not required
