Job summary

Ribble Cycle Co in Preston is seeking a proactive People Advisor to join our growing team. This hands-on role covers the full employee lifecycle, offering practical advice and supporting managers to handle day-to-day People matters.

You'll work closely with the People Operations Manager, manage recruitment, onboarding and engagement initiatives, and help ensure a fair, positive experience for every colleague.

Qualifications

• Experience in a People/HR role supporting managers and advisory responsibilities.
• Understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Experience supporting employee relations, recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
• Confident communicator with ability to build relationships with managers and colleagues at all levels.
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
• Professional with discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Comfortable using HR systems and digital tools; open to AI technologies.
• Willingness to learn and apply new methods and tools in HR.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day People matters, advising managers and escalating complex cases.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, including job descriptions, interviews and contracts.
• Maintain accurate employee records, GDPR compliance, payroll input and HR system usage for reporting.
• Support employee engagement, wellbeing activities and recognition programs.
• Contribute to policy reviews and continuous improvement across the employee experience.
