About Pret

The Role

The People Advisor will partner with the People Business Partner(s) to provide excellent HR advice to shops and employees across the UK. The role involves offering HR support on various people-related activities, reporting to the People Business Partner.

Key responsibilities include providing legally compliant HR advice, employee relations support, managing HR processes, and supporting HR administration and data accuracy. The role also involves contributing to strategic initiatives, supporting employee wellbeing, and promoting a fair, respectful workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Support HR guidelines updates for Pret’s General Counsel.
  2. Advise shop teams on conduct, performance, sickness, and grievances.
  3. Manage visa expiry reports and right-to-work documentation.
  4. Update employee visa and passport information.
  5. Escalate employee relations issues as needed.
  6. Assist managers with formal meetings, documentation, and correspondence.
  7. Support sickness absence management and occupational health referrals.
  8. Monitor long-term sickness cases and support wellbeing meetings.
  9. Advise on various types of leave, including parental and flexible working.
  10. Maintain tribunal case records and liaise with legal advisors.
  11. Support succession planning, ER trend analysis, and HR projects.
  12. Review and challenge current HR processes and participate in training and development initiatives.
  13. Promote a workplace free from discrimination and harassment.

Skills and Experience

  1. Experience in drafting ER and HR correspondence.
  2. Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
  3. Organized, deadline-driven, and team-oriented.
  4. Effective relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  6. Diplomacy and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  7. IT literacy; experience with ‘Workday’ is desirable.
  8. Passion, adaptability, and alignment with One Pret values.
