Job summary

The Perfume Shop is seeking a People Advisor to join their HR Team for a 9-month contract. The Advisor will deliver HR services to the Retail Operations team, providing guidance on policies, support with employee relations, and ensuring compliance with legislation. Ideal candidates will have HR experience in retail and strong communication skills, with opportunities for growth and 25 days of holiday.

Job description

We’re looking for a fabulousPeople Advisorto join ourPeople Teamon a 9-month fixed term contract and play a key role in delivering a proactive, people-first HR service to our Retail Operations team. You’ll provide expert advice on a wide range of people matters, ensuring our policies are applied fairly, consistently, and in line with employment legislation.

You’ll be the go-to person for day-to-day HR queries, supporting managers and employees across the UK and ROI, and helping to create a positive and compliant working environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

· Provide timely, accurate advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.

· Support line managers with employee relations issues including absence, performance, and disciplinary matters.

· Attend formal meetings and produce comprehensive outcome letters and documentation.

· Oversee family-friendly policies and ensure payroll changes are processed on time.

· Produce people data reports and support with audits and compliance.

· Travel to sites across the UK and ROI as required.

· Stay up to date with employment legislation and ensure it’s reflected in our practices.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

· Previous experience in a similar HR role, ideally within a fast-paced retail environment.

· CIPD Level 3 (or working towards it) or a willingness to study via apprenticeship.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.

· A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

· Confidence using Microsoft Office and HR systems.
