The successful candidate will play an integral role in driving engagement across the business and building long-standing relationships with key stakeholders.
What does the role of People Advisor look like day to day?
- Provide expert HR guidance and support to managers and colleagues across a wide range of topics, ensuring alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and best practices.
- Be the main point of contact for managers, supporting probationary reviews, performance management, absence management, and more.
- Support managers in navigating employee cases, offering practical and people-centred solutions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by working with managers to ensure equal opportunities, colleague development, and engagement are prioritized.
- Ensure policies and procedures are fit for purpose and aligned with our values and objectives.
- Lead or support projects in areas such as Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Wellbeing, Rewards and Benefits, and Employee Engagement.
- Support Senior People Partners on projects like TUPE, Organisational Change, and new business initiatives.
- Manage and support our benefit schemes, working closely with the Senior People Partner and benefits administrators to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Analyze HR data to provide insights and solutions for HR and operational projects.
- Stay updated on employment law and implement changes effectively.
This role is primarily remote, with occasional attendance at our Cardiff or Newport offices as required.
What are we looking for?
- CIPD Qualification (desirable)
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
- Ability to work remotely and independently
- Experience as an HR Advisor or similar role
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Passion for colleague experience and engagement
- A People Person who can work with all colleagues, from Customer Service Executives to Exco Board members
- Resilience and adaptability to change
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Understanding of employment law
- Payroll processing knowledge (desirable)
Preferred HR experience includes:
- Employee relations issues
- Report writing and management information
- HR projects and initiatives
- Policy development and continuous improvement
- Employment law application
- Using HR systems for data extraction and analysis
- Advising managers effectively
