Job summary

Dignity Group is seeking a People Advisor (Employee Relations) based in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 months, offering up to £40,000 per annum.

You will advise managers on ER matters, handle investigations, provide coaching, and support data-driven people initiatives across the business. The role suits an HR/ER professional who values fairness, collaboration and a positive colleague experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing employee relations casework across cases from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, policy interpretation, and procedural fairness.
  • Experience coaching and influencing managers to achieve positive people outcomes.
  • Excellent written communication skills for high-quality documentation and reports.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ER casework from start to finish, including investigations, hearings and outcomes.
  • Advise and coach managers on performance, probation and ER matters.
  • Support delivery of people initiatives through data, insights and reporting.
  • Deliver and support people management training across the business.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and the wider People team.
  • Support the delivery of a positive people agenda throughout the employee lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

As a trusted advisor to managers and colleagues across the organisation, you'll provide expert guidance on a wide range of employee relations matters, helping to minimise risk while delivering practical, people-focused solutions.

  • Managing employee relations casework from start to finish, including investigations, hearings and outcomes.
  • Advising and coaching managers on performance, probation and employee relations matters.
  • Supporting the delivery of people initiatives through data, insights and reporting.
  • Delivering and supporting people management training across the business.
  • Building collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and wider People team.
  • Supporting the delivery of a positive people agenda throughout the employee lifecycle.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines robust employee relations expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills and a genuine passion for helping people succeed.

  • Proven experience managing employee relations casework and advising managers on a wide range of ER matters.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, policy interpretation and procedural fairness.
  • Experience coaching and influencing managers to achieve positive people outcomes.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality documentation and reports.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and relationship-building capability.
  • Experience using HR systems and data to support decision-making.
  • Adaptable, resilient and comfortable managing challenging conversations.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or above), or equivalent experience.
