This is a varied and influential role where you'll combine operational HR leadership with strategic improvement, working closely with senior leaders to shape people practices that support the continued growth of Dignus Group.

If you're an experienced HR professional who enjoys solving complex people challenges, developing managers and leading a high-performing HR team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What we offer:

  • £45,000 - £50,000 annual salary (depending on experience)
  • 33 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
  • Additional annual leave at key career milestones
  • Benenden Health plan for added peace of mind
  • £500 employee referral scheme
  • Company pension to support your future
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) wellbeing support
  • Life assurance at 2x annual salary
  • Blue Light Card access with discounts on retail, travel and leisure
  • Ongoing professional development and CPD opportunities
  • Fully funded apprenticeships
  • Clear development pathways and opportunities to progress within the organisation

What the role involves:

As HR Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of our HR service, ensuring managers receive practical, commercially focused and legally compliant advice across the full employee lifecycle.

This includes:

  • Leading, coaching and developing the HR team to deliver an outstanding HR service
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations matters
  • Supporting managers with disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, performance and safeguarding-related issues
  • Leading on complex investigations, hearings and appeals where required
  • Managing organisational change, restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers
  • Supporting flexible working, family-friendly policies and employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Working with Occupational Health and other external professionals to support employee wellbeing
  • Developing practical guidance, toolkits and resources to build manager confidence
  • Designing and delivering HR and people management training for managers
  • Managing ACAS Early Conciliation matters and supporting Employment Tribunal preparation

  • Reviewing and developing HR policies, procedures and documentation to ensure legal compliance and best practice
  • Monitoring HR metrics and employee relations trends to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Producing reports and management information for senior leaders
  • Supporting strategic HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with managers across the organisation to promote a positive, values-led culture

Working pattern:

This is a full-time leadership role based primarily at our Head Office, with regular travel to Dignus services as required.

You'll work closely with operational leaders across the business, providing visible HR leadership and support. Flexibility will occasionally be required to meet the needs of the organisation, including travel between sites and occasional early morning or evening meetings.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

What we're looking for:

We welcome applications from experienced HR Managers, Senior HR Advisors, HR Business Partners or Employee Relations specialists who are ready to lead a busy and dynamic HR function.

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases through to conclusion
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience managing restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers
  • Experience supporting ACAS Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal cases
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing HR teams
  • Excellent coaching and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong report writing, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • The confidence to influence and advise managers at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused and commercially aware approach
  • The ability to build trusted relationships while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
  • You'll ideally be CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualified (or working towards a CIPD qualification).
  • Experience within the health and social care sector would be advantageous but isn't essential if you have strong employee relations and leadership experience within another regulated or fast-paced environment.
