Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pension Actuarial Consultant. The role holder will play a crucial role in ensuring that all client tasks and assignments are executed accurately and efficiently. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
How you'll make an impact
- Prepare and coordinate letters and reports with minimal direction.
- Supervise phases of actuarial valuations and special projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare material for and attend client meetings, making presentations to clients and prospects.
- Own the implementation of new services and assist scheme consultants with pension scheme consultancy aspects.
- Coordinate and review project assignments to ensure timely and accurate work products.
- Assist in developing and presenting proposals for consulting services.
- Proactively provide consulting services and develop responsive solutions.
- Achieve billable hours objectives through the production of client deliverables.
- Ensure the timeliness and quality of work, completing tasks within budget.
- Explain and help clients analyze options for addressing their needs.
- Use relevant tools, including regulator guidance, standards, and internal expertise.
- Maintain contact with clients regarding work products and inquiries.
- Listen to clients to understand their problems and articulate solutions.
- Grow client relationships and improve service efficiency to stay competitive.
- Collaborate with other business lines on projects and client relations.
- Assist in preparing client invoices.
- Support hiring, training, and motivating junior staff, providing feedback and managing performance.
- Demonstrate teamwork and communication skills.
- Improve work processes, delegate, and supervise junior staff.
- Act on new opportunities and accept challenges.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of marketplace benefits products.
- Participate in and lead training activities to increase knowledge.
- Bring in experienced personnel as needed.
- Share work across the company.
- Pursue actuarial credentials through ongoing professional development.
- Ensure work is peer-reviewed as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate time recording and client billing.
- Stay informed about regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to corporate policies and report breaches.
About You
- Substantial experience in actuarial consultancy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Proactive, team-oriented, and detail-focused.
- Computer literate.
- Proven management skills.
- FIA/FFA qualified.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
