NHS Jobs is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to lead assessment and intervention for children aged 3–19 with a range of speech, language and communication disorders and dysphagia in special schools.

The role requires autonomous clinical decision-making, collaboration with families and school staff, and development of individual management plans grounded in best practice and up-to-date evidence.

Qualificações

• Full autonomy in managing a highly complex caseload of children with special needs in special schools.
• Involves assessing, diagnosing, and planning interventions for communication disorders and dysphagia.
• Utilises standardised tests and observation to inform differential diagnosis and management.
• Negotiates outcomes with carers, families, teachers and other professionals.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a highly complex caseload and prioritise own workload.
• Assess, analyse and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
• Assess dysphagia needs and formulate management plans.
• Develop individualised management plans informed by research and best practice.
• Collaborate with parents, educators and other professionals; provide guidance and training.
