Job summary

Birmingham Community Health Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join its Neurodevelopmental (ND) Team across Birmingham. You will deliver assessment and support for children with social communication difficulties and profound and multiple disabilities within a multi-disciplinary setting, including home visits and education settings.

You will mentor junior staff and students, work in a dynamic NHS environment, and become proficient with standardised assessments

Qualifications

• Holistic, client-centred practice in neurodevelopmental care.
• Experience with Autism assessment and diagnosis is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork across a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Offer, evaluate and develop assessment and support for children with social communication difficulties and profound and multiple disabilities in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide support to junior team members and students.
• Be trained to use a wide range of standardised assessments as part of the ND team across Birmingham, including virtual assessments.
