Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Speech and Language Therapist to join a 0.6 WTE permanent role focusing on neuro-developmental disorders including ASD in children and young people up to 18 years. The post offers an opportunity to lead holistic assessments within a supportive MDT environment.

The role requires UK HCPC registration and a degree in SLT with broad experience of complex cases.

Qualifications

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration.
• Experience assessing 0-18 year olds with neuro-developmental disorders including ASD.
• Ability to lead holistic diagnostic assessments and work autonomously within professional guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead holistic diagnostic assessments for 0–18 years with suspected ASD.
• Provide diagnoses where appropriate and contribute to service development.
• Collaborate with families and a multi-disciplinary team; support staff development and governance.
• Engage in audit, policy, and research activities.
