Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) seeks a Band 7 Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join a Neurodevelopmental Team across Birmingham. The post involves assessments, intervention planning, and collaboration with Children’s therapy, psychology, education and local authority partners.

You will support complex cases, supervise juniors, and work across multiple sites with some virtual assessments, in a flexible, NHS terms environment.

Qualifications

• First degree level qualification, relevant to service area.
• HCPC Licence to practice.
• Full Membership of Professional body , relevant to service area.
• Evidence of recent relevant CPD activities in specialist area.
• Relevant training in clinical leadership.
• Masters post graduate qualification, relevant to service area.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out specialist assessments in service area and developing care programmes.
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary team to manage complex cases.
• Using validated assessments to inform clinical decisions in complex cases.
• Leading supervision of junior staff and students where applicable.
• Delivering therapy sessions and developing care packages for children with SEND.
