Job summary

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a specialist paediatric respiratory physiotherapist to join a rotating post across critical care and other respiratory specialties. The post holder will assess, treat and manage babies, children and young people autonomously, working within multidisciplinary teams in wards, clinics and community settings.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a physiotherapist.
• Experience in respiratory settings.
• Evidence of interest in respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous physiotherapy assessment, treatment and ongoing management to babies, children and young people.
• Manage own caseload and a defined area of the service, with and without direct supervision.
• Rotate across critical care, respiratory medicals, CF, LTV and community respiratory care, as agreed with service leads.
• Supervise and support more junior therapists, therapy practitioners and support workers.
• Supervise and manage students.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams with specialist nurses, psychologists, AHPs and consultants.
• Take part in training and education.
• Cover evening, out-of-hours, weekend and on-call rota as required.
• Undertake non-clinical roles delegated by service leads.
• Support audit, service development and research with senior staff.
