Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Nursing Associate/Assistant Practitioner to join the Children's Outpatient Department at North Manchester General Hospital.

Working with the Registered Nurse and the wider MDT, you will provide compassionate, safe care for children with complex medical needs, perform nursing tasks you are competent in (vital signs, bloods, ECG), and help with clinics, family support and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications

• Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register with a Foundation Degree or Assistant Practitioner with Foundation Degree.
• Plaster technician qualification or up to date knowledge/experience of plastering/casting.
• Experience of working with children and young people.
• Recent clinic healthcare environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe and effective care and support to children within the outpatient department.
• Support children/young people and families to improve mental, physical, behavioural health and well-being.
• Safely undertake procedures to meet nursing needs (e.g., vitals, bloods, ECG).
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous patient records in line with Trust policy and the NMC Code.
• Work with the Registered Nurse and MDT to ensure safe, individualised care for the child/young person.
• Provide evidence-based care under supervision of Registered Nurses.
