Job summary

Qualifications

• Registered Children's Nurse (UK professional registration)
• Relevant pre-registration experience with babies and children
• Experience in multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in establishing effective communication
• Demonstrable nursing skills for babies and children
• Basic life support skills
• Willingness to advance competencies
• Basic IT skills
• NMC Regulations
• Awareness of child health and neonatal issues
• Child Protection Awareness
• Up-to-date knowledge of legislation pertaining to children and young people
• Awareness of clinical governance agenda
• Awareness of preceptorship and supervision

Responsibilities

• Care for children, young people and families admitted for assessment, elective or emergency care.
• Plan and evaluate with the MDT to ensure best outcomes and maintain high-quality documentation.
• Work within the Nursing and Midwifery Code and adhere to local safeguarding policies.
