Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Band 5 Children’s Epilepsy Nurse to join the Staffordshire Children’s Hospital. You will care for children and young people with epilepsy, work with the Epilepsy Nurse Specialist, and support families in a dynamic, evidence-based care environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Children’s Nurse on the NMC Register.
• Previous experience caring for children with epilepsy.
• ENB 998 / Mentorship level 3 or equivalent or experience of teaching in the clinical areas.
• IT and computer skills.
• Pet 1 and 2 qualification epilepsy certificate or willingness to undertake

Responsibilities

• The Children’s Epilepsy Nurse will work with clinicians with a specialist interest in Epilepsy and deliver nursing skills, knowledge and expertise to children, young people and their families.
• Act as a point of contact between primary, secondary, tertiary care and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
• Facilitate best practice and evidence-based care for children and young people with epilepsy.
