Job summary

Harmony HealthCare is seeking a Female Complex Care Healthcare Assistant to support a young child with complex health needs in her family home in Sussex. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient, person-centred care to aid comfort, safety and wellbeing while enabling daily activities.

The position requires experience with complex care, NG tube care, suctioning, and oxygen monitoring. Training is provided; three to five shadow shifts may be arranged.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in complex care settings.
• NG tube care and feeding experience.
• Oxygen saturation monitoring knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support with daily activities.
• Support the child’s communication using vocalisations, gestures, and picture cards.
• Follow individual care plans and clinical guidance.
• Assist NG tube care, feeding, flushes and medication administration as trained.
• Monitor respiratory needs and oxygen therapy as prescribed.
• Offer suctioning (oral/nasal) and nebuliser therapy where competent.
• Observe and report changes in breathing or wellbeing.
• Support use of glasses and hearing aids.
• Assist mobility using appropriate equipment.
• Provide companionship and engaging activities; work with family and healthcare team.
