Job summary

Angard Staffing Solutions Ltd is recruiting Despatch Control Managers to support Royal Mail's peak operation at Milton Keynes Parcel Sort Centre, MK17 8EW, from the end of October. You will report to the Parcel Sort Centre/Optimisation manager and lead a team managing transport and distribution within the PSC.

The role requires strong operational decision-making, experience in transport/logistics, and the ability to work flexibly across early, late, and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or distribution operations.
• Strong operational decision making and ownership.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong IT literacy and ability to use reporting tools.
• Knowledge of safety and performance management requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage transport and distribution operations within the PSC.
• Maintain safe, compliant and legal operations.
• Lead despatch bays and vehicle movements.
• Ensure planned network departures and Move-to-Time compliance.
• Maximise vehicle utilisation and load fill.
• Manage contractor driver attendance and escalate no-shows.
• Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and motivate operational teams on shift.
• Manage risks, contingencies and service failures.
• Support delivery of the peak work plan and service commitments.
