Job summary

Harris Academy Beckenham is seeking a qualified teacher to join as Coordinator of PE on a fixed-term contract to August 2027. You will lead a supportive team in establishing outstanding PE provision, across programmes, systems and structures in line with the academy's vision and values.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent and relevant undergraduate degree.
• Experience leading and developing PE or curriculum areas.
• Strong understanding of KS3-KS5 requirements and assessment.
• Evidence of professional development and coaching of staff.
• Ability to motivate teams and raise achievement in PE.

Responsibilities

• Establish outstanding PE provision across KS3-KS5 in line with academy vision.
• Be accountable for student progress and attainment in PE.
• Lead and develop teaching quality and learning within the PE department.
• Provide engaging, relevant and differentiated PE curriculum.
• Manage department resources and staff effectively.
• Lead literacy and numeracy initiatives within PE as applicable.
