Job summary

Arriva Group at Stockton depot is hiring a PCV Bus Driver to keep our community moving. You will serve passengers on local routes, ensure safety, and provide friendly, reliable service to customers daily.

MUST have a valid PCV Licence and up to 6 points; 18 months of bus driving experience in the last 5 years qualifies for the higher pay rate (£16.00–£16.30 p/h). Training and progression are offered, with overtime and family bus travel benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid PCV Licence.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Drive PCV buses on scheduled routes and maintain on-time performance.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist passengers as needed.
• Ensure safety of passengers and vehicle, reporting incidents as required.

Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour - £16.30 per hour

As a Bus Driver, you’ll build relationships with familiar faces on your routes and even be the highlight of someone’s day. We take pride in the service we provide and the impact we have on the community, and we’re looking for like-minded individuals to join our team.

What We Offer:

Pay Rate £14.00 - £16.30 per hour

• Weekdays £16.00 per hour (must have 18 months experience in the last 5 years)
• Weekends £16.30 per hour (must have 18 months experience in the last 5 years)
• Bank Holiday £40 bonus paid per shift

*Qualified drivers with at least 18 months bus driving experience in the last 5 years will start on £16.00 p/h basic, otherwise the starting rate will be £14.00 p/h for 6 months.

Hours of Work:

• 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned up to 6-8 weeks in advance
• Mornings starting from 05:00 and evenings finishing around 01:30
• Overtime available based on request/availability

What We Need From You:

• MUST have a valid PCV Licence – This is a non-negotiable requirement.
  (If you don’t have a PCV licence yet, apply for our Trainee role, and we’ll provide paid training to help you get qualified!)
• No more than 6 points on your licence
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
• Excellent customer service and people skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts
