Job summary

Arriva Durham County Limited is hiring PCV Bus Drivers at our Stockton depot. You’ll drive routes, connect with familiar faces on your daily journeys, and help passengers get to work, run errands, or school safely.

Pay ranges from £14.00 to £16.30 per hour. Weekdays £16.00, weekends £16.30 (18 months experience in the last 5 years required). A £40 bank holiday bonus per shift is also offered. Shifts are 5 out of 7, with early mornings starting around 05:00 and finishing around 01:30.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid PCV Licence.
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Excellent customer service and people skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Drive PCV buses on assigned routes.
• Help passengers get on/off safely and assist with errands.
• Ensure children are transported safely to school.
• Build rapport with regular customers and provide friendly service.

What We Offer

• Pay Rate £14.00 - £16.30 per hour
• Weekdays £16.00 per hour (must have 18 months experience in the last 5 years)
• Weekends £16.30 per hour (must have 18 months experience in the last 5 years)
• Bank Holiday £40 bonus paid per shift
• *Qualified drivers with at least 18 months bus driving experience in the last 5 years will start on £16.00 p/h basic, otherwise the starting rate will be £14.00 p/h for 6 months.

Hours of Work: 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned up to 6-8 weeks in advance Mornings starting from 05:00 and evenings finishing around 01:30 Overtime available based on request/availability

What We Need From You

• MUST have a valid PCV Licence - This is a non-negotiable requirement. (If you don't have a PCV licence yet, apply for our Trainee role, and we'll provide paid training to help you get qualified!)
