Job summary

IONATE is seeking a PCB Development Engineer to join our Power Electronics team in the UK. You will drive the PCB development environment, maintain libraries, and create templates and workflows for design-for-assembly and design-for-test.

You will collaborate with PCB assemblers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-volume, reliable PCB assemblies for our Hybrid Intelligent Transformer. You will contribute to Altium-based design work, develop IPC Class III-ready libraries, and advance our

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing, prototyping or engineering design environment- for example; industrial, motor drives, EV chargers, automotive, aerospace
• Experience in electronics hardware design, including PCB and power supply design - AC-DC, DC-DC and DC-AC
• Good understanding of electronic and electrical components and their principles.
• Experience using Altium Designer and/or SPICE
• Communication skills enabling you to work with various teams across the globe.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a continuous improvement mindset.
• A drive to learn new things!

Responsibilities

• Work with Altium Designer on a daily basis to support the Power Electronics team’s existing and upcoming PCB projects.
• Create and maintain an IONATE-specific component library which is fit for IPC Class III assembly and volume production.
• Create and maintain project, schematic and BOM templates, lifecycle processes and workflows, and design guideline documents.
• Work with PCB assemblers and manufacturers to understand key requirements affecting design-for-assembly and design-for-test.
• Develop high-reliability PCB assemblies, suitable for high-volume production.
• Work to clear timescales and collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver projects on time, with ambitious product targets.
