Job summary

IONATE, a deep tech scale-up building the hardware and software backbone for smart grids, seeks engineers to design and test control algorithms for power electronics and grid-connected systems. You will develop models, run simulations, and lead hands-on lab testing while collaborating across transformer design, embedded, and SW teams.

Hybrid work from London is available. Ideal candidates have a degree in Electronics/Control Engineering and strong MATLAB/Simulink skills, plus C/C++/Python for

Qualifications

• Degree in electronics/electrical/information/control engineering.
• Proven experience developing control algorithms for power electronics or grid/inverter systems.
• Strong knowledge of classical, nonlinear, and model predictive control.
• Ability to read scientific literature and implement solutions.
• Proficiency in real-time programming with MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++/Python.
• Experience in DSP and filtering; lab testing with power hardware.

Responsibilities

• Research, design and develop control strategies for IONATE technologies.
• Develop models and conduct simulations during product lifecycle.
• Create and execute standardized test plans including lab testing.
• Troubleshoot software/hardware and system-level issues with practical solutions.
• Analyze test data to assess system performance.
• Communicate complex technical solutions with peers and non-engineering staff.
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams including transformers and power electronics.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
