Job summary

Choice Care Group in Wales is seeking a Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner to deliver and embed PBS across homes, under supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist or Behaviour Clinical Specialist. You will support meaningful change for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

The role involves conducting assessments, developing PBS plans, coaching staff, participating in multi‑disciplinary meetings, and contributing to care planning.

Qualifications

  • Honours degree in Psychology (or related Health & Social Care) at 2:1 or above.
  • Experience with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.
  • Experience supporting behaviours that challenge.
  • Knowledge or experience of Positive Behavioural Support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to person‑centred, least restrictive practice.

Salary: £27,560 to £27,560 Annum (on a 12-month Fixed Term basis)

We are looking for a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Practitioner to join our expanding Clinical Team at Care Without Compromise. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical skills while helping to embed psychologically informed, person‑centred care across our services.

About The Role

As a PBS Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering and embedding Positive Behavioural Support across our homes. Working under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist or Behaviour Clinical Specialist, you will support meaningful, lasting change for the people we support.

Your responsibilities will include:

About You

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, analytical, and motivated to make a difference.

Essential
  • Honours degree in Psychology (or a relevant Health & Social Care subject) at 2:1 or above.
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.
  • Experience supporting people who display behaviours that challenge.
  • Knowledge or experience of Positive Behavioural Support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to person‑centred, least restrictive practice.
Desirable
  • Level 4 PBS qualification (or willingness to undertake if not already completed).
  • Experience delivering training to staff.
  • Knowledge of MCA, DoLS, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Experience with Active Support approaches.
  • Training in a BILD‑accredited physical intervention programme.
