Job summary

Aramark UK is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to join our payroll function in Leeds. You will lead a talented team, ensuring colleagues are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance, governance and customer service across a complex organisation.

This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary up to £43,000 plus benefits and career progression. You will manage day-to-day operations, drive improvements, and ensure adherence to HMRC regulations and pension rules.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading or supervising a payroll team.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, pensions).
• Experience handling complex payroll queries and escalations.
• Experience with TUPE transfers, acquisitions or change projects.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with payroll/HR systems and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll operation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide technical payroll expertise and escalate complex queries.
• Support payroll activities around TUPE transfers and acquisitions.
• Coach and develop the Payroll team and drive performance.
• Ensure HMRC, pension, GDPR compliance and audit readiness.
• Drive system enhancements and process standardisation.
