Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a payroll team in a high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, pensions, year-end).
• Experience handling complex queries and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll operation, ensuring accuracy, compliance and deadlines.
• Provide technical payroll expertise and act as escalation point for complex queries.
• Support TUPE transfers, acquisitions, mobilisations, and organisational change.
• Coach and develop the Payroll team, allocating workloads and driving performance.
• Ensure HMRC, pension, GDPR compliance; maintain robust payroll controls and audit readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement, system enhancements, and process standardisation.
