Payroll Specialist

Our client, a highly regarded Investment firm with circa $60Bil of AUM, has an opening within its Finance team for a Payroll Specialist to oversee global payroll operations across Asia, Europe, and North America. This role will ensure compliance with regional regulations, optimize payroll processes, and support employees with payroll-related queries. The ideal candidate has a strong background in multi-country payroll processing, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for compliance and efficiency.

Role & Responsibilities
  1. Manage end-to-end payroll cycles across global offices (US, UK, Paris, Singapore, and Hong Kong), ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
  2. Prepare payrolls for approvals and support the submission of statutory notices and relevant tax/social security documents to third parties.
  3. Work with payroll software and third-party vendors, performing data verification between payroll and HR systems to maintain accurate payroll records.
  4. Act as the key liaison between HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and seamless payroll integration with benefits, compensation, and taxation policies.
  5. Manage the payroll inbox and address payroll-related inquiries, ensuring employees understand their compensation, deductions, and benefits.
  6. Generate payroll reports, reconcile payroll transactions, and collaborate with the Finance team for accurate financial reporting.
  7. Assist with audits and finance-related queries.
  8. Identify and implement best practices to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  9. Maintain, update, and assist in creating relevant payroll policies, procedures, and forms.
  10. Ensure adherence to local payroll regulations, tax requirements, and statutory contributions in each jurisdiction.
  11. Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, raising issues via appropriate channels.
  12. Approximately 3+ years of experience in payroll processing across multiple regions.
  13. Proficiency in payroll platforms, such as UKG and ActivPay.
  14. Advanced user of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  15. Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant payroll, pension, benefits regulation, and legislation internationally.
  16. Strong ability to analyze payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
  17. High level of accuracy and commitment to data integrity.
  18. Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex payroll information clearly to employees and stakeholders.
  19. Relevant degree/qualifications within finance/accounting.
  20. Experience with process automation and optimization in payroll operations.
