Job summary

Tribus People Limited is seeking a Payroll Administrator in Torquay to manage a client payroll portfolio and ensure accurate, timely payments. The role offers hybrid working after an initial probation period, with three days from home.

You will handle end-to-end payroll processes, adapt to different pay structures, and act as the main contact for client queries, while maintaining strict attention to detail and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on payroll experience, ideally managing multiple payrolls or a portfolio of clients.
• Good understanding of payroll calculations, statutory payments and relevant legislation.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot and investigate discrepancies.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Confident communication skills and a client-focused approach.
• Good Excel skills, including working with spreadsheets, manipulating data and importing information.
• Experience using Paycircle would be particularly relevant, and knowledge of Xero would also be useful.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of approximately 30–50 client payrolls each month, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Handling payroll from start to finish, including data input, imports, calculations and final checks.
• Calculating statutory payments, including maternity, sick and holiday pay.
• Managing different pay structures, including hourly rates, tips and variable pay.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, answering queries and building positive working relationships.
• Identifying discrepancies and resolving payroll issues before they become problems.
• Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and ensuring payrolls remain compliant.
