Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a leading Housing Association on a temporary basis in Nottingham. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will process payroll records, administer statutory payments and pensions, and ensure data accuracy to meet deadlines.

Month-end and year-end duties, audits, and enquiries are part of the role. Experience with iTrent is preferred, with strong HMRC knowledge and a focus on confidentiality and

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Payroll Officer/Payroll Administrator/Payroll Specialist role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation including statutory payments, pensions and HMRC requirements.
  • Experience or preference for using iTrent.

Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain payroll records and ensure transactions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Administer statutory payments, pensions, colleague expenses, absences and payroll deductions in line with legislation.
  • Reconcile payroll control accounts and identify discrepancies in net pay and pension accounts.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and pension records, ensuring data is up to date and compliant.
  • Extract, analyse and report payroll data to support statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll processes with necessary documentation and returns.
  • Respond to complex payroll enquiries with confidentiality and high service levels.
  • Assist with audits and ensure payroll documentation is readily available.
  • Support payroll system developments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.
