Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a highly regarded organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring a smooth, efficient, and resilient monthly payroll process, while also supporting the implementation of a new HR and Payroll system. Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the monthly payroll timetable, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on payroll matters, including statutory payments, allowances, and benefits.
  • Partner closely with HR and Finance colleagues to resolve queries and ensure data accuracy across HR and payroll systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the review and development of payroll policies and support annual pay review modelling.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Strong experience working within HR and payroll functions, ideally in complex organisations.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven payroll processes.
  • Knowledge of integrated HR/Payroll systems
  • Sound understanding of UK employment law, payroll legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Part-qualified CIPD (or equivalent knowledge/experience) desirable.
