Job summary

Marks Sattin is seeking a Payroll & Pensions Officer on a part-time basis in the Greater Manchester area. The role offers school term-time hours, hybrid working, and a competitive benefits package with a generous pension.

Responsibilities

• Ensure colleagues are paid accurately within contractual timeframes
• Process payroll changes (leavers, contract changes, expenses) and monthly payroll checks
• Raise payroll errors with payroll provider via appropriate routes
• Ensure statutory deductions are sent to the payroll provider
• Check shared parental leave and maternity leave schedules
• Collaborate with People and Finance teams to improve processes
• Update employer pension contribution rates with the payroll provider
• Liaise with HMRC on taxation issues
• Attend monthly contract management meetings with payroll provider

We are actively seeking a Payroll & Pensions Officer (Part Time) for a highly reputable company in Flixton, Greater Manchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a very successful business on a permanent basis.

The hours of work are 29 hours per week (across 4 or 5 days), school term time only, plus 2 weeks.

The main duties include:

• Ensure all colleagues are paid accurately in line with contractual timeframes


• Process payroll changes (leavers, contract changes, expenses) and monthly payroll checks as required


• Raise payroll errors and inaccuracies with the payroll provider via the appropriate routes.


• Ensure appropriate statutory deductions are made by sending relevant information to the payroll provider


• Check shared parental leave and maternity leave schedules are accurate


• Work with the wider People Team and Finance Team to continuously improve


• Update any employer pension contribution rates with the payroll provider


• Liaise with HMRC on taxation issues


• Attend monthly contract management meetings with payroll provider
