We're on the lookout for a meticulous and proactive Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll manage end-to-end payroll processes for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and delivering exceptional service.

You will work as part of the Employer Services & Payroll Team, reporting to the Payroll Manager in this Full-Time position, from our Leamington Spa office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a diverse client base.
  • Collect and verify employee timesheets and attendance records.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions in line with UK tax laws.
  • Carryout Pension Auto-Enrolment duties.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including Real Time Information (RTI) submissions.
  • Prepare and distribute payslips, P45s, and P60s to employees.
  • Prepare and distribute P11Ds to employers and employees.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and update employee information as needed.
  • Respond to client and employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Assist in preparing payroll reports for client review.
  • Collect and verify employee timesheets and attendance records.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice.
  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g. BrightPay, Payroll Manager or similar).
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll principles and tax regulations.
  • Experience with auto-enrolment pension schemes.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data protection best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability to changing processes and regulations.

  • Competitive salary up to £30,000 per annum (DOE).
  • 35 hour working week, (2pm finish on Friday’s).
  • 22 days holiday + bank holidays.
