Job summary

Michael Page Finance in Wantage is seeking a Payroll Manager to run day-to-day payroll operations, oversee a small team and support the wider accounting and finance function with payments and compliance.

You will manage end-to-end payroll, ensure legislative compliance, prepare reports, and stay updated on payroll changes while building strong relationships across departments. The role is based in-office five days a week with onsite parking and employee benefits.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll experience in a similar role.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and regulations.
• Oversee all payroll processing activities.
• Take ownership of payroll accounting, including payroll journals, balance sheet reconciliations and control account management, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with the accounting and finance department on payroll-related matters.
• Prepare payroll reports and provide analysis as required.
• Year-end processes, including tax reporting and reconciliations.
• Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and practices.
• Manage a small Payroll team.
