Job description

Job Overview

Our client is a well-established Accountancy Practice seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee their payroll operations for their client base.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems and data entry using Sage 50.

Skills

The client is seeking a candidate with in-depth working knowledge of running end-to-end payroll on Sage 50 Payroll software.

Experience in pension management, portal integration, and CIS filing is preferred.

The role offers a salary of GBP 31-35k per annum for either a 37.5-hour or a 30-hour workweek, with salary pro-rata for the 30-hour week. The position is exclusively office-based.

The client’s payroll breakdown includes:

  • 11 weekly & three 4-weekly payrolls
  • 45 monthly payrolls with employees
  • 35 monthly payrolls without CIS
  • 10 monthly payrolls with CIS
  • 101 director-only payrolls, with potential for increase, run monthly

Manual entry of timesheets/clock cards for hourly paid employees is required, with openness to change provided client compliance is maintained.

Filing of monthly 12 CIS returns is necessary.

The largest payroll scheme currently involves approximately 30 employees, with potential to increase to around 35 due to starters and leavers.

Pension schemes include NEST, NOW, and People’s Pension, covering around 40 schemes in total.
