Job summary

schuh is seeking a Pay & Benefits Administrator to provide a timely, efficient payroll service across multiple payrolls in the UK and ROI. You will support the Payroll Manager and wider People team, ensuring accurate processing, data integrity and GDPR compliance.

The role offers hybrid working options, a focus on customer service for employees, and the opportunity to work with Dayforce HRIS and Aviva Pension integrations.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for three payrolls within UK, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland, following checklists and policy to ensure timely, accurate payments.
• Gather new starter and leaver information, process absences per policy, review timesheets against contracts and liaise with stores for discrepancies; ensure HMRC SSP requirements using Dayforce.
• Process and review third-party payroll orders/invoices and deductions, ensure correct tax codes and student loans per HMRC guidelines.
• Perform pre-payroll calculations (new starts/leavers, timesheets, bonuses) and manage ad-hoc payroll interfaces and leaver payments.
• Conduct statutory calculations (SMP, ShPP, SPP, SAP) and administer Pension Auto Enrolment with Aviva.
• Reconcile payroll per period and generate output reports; manage CHI payroll with Dayforce and managed service.
• Handle employee post-pay queries via calls and inbox; maintain high customer service levels.
• Submit HMRC liabilities (FPS, EPS, Year End) and support accounting with post-pay outputs.
• Coordinate with third-party benefits providers and ensure accurate, timely data; support benefits processing (e.g., Aviva Pension, AEO/DEAs).
• Support and develop analytical reports within Pay & Benefits team.
