Payroll Assistant - Glasgow

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Assistant to join our growing Financial Service team in Glasgow. With hybrid working options, we offer a flexible and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process monthly payrolls accurately from start to finish, including new starters, leavers, changes, and deductions.
  2. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations such as PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and auto-enrolment pension contributions.
  3. Handle payroll queries from employees and management promptly and professionally.
  4. Assist with payroll year-end procedures, including P60s and P11Ds.
  5. Liaise with HMRC and other third parties as required.
  6. Support payroll reporting and reconciliation activities within the wider finance team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Hold a CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Previous experience in payroll, preferably within a medium to large organization.
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
