Matchtech Group is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Advisor to join on a fixed-term contract (FTC) in Warrington. The role focuses on supporting both BAU payroll activity and a major payroll system implementation project.

Strong background in payroll transformation or systems change is highly desirable. Responsibilities include running end-to-end payroll for multiple contracts, ensuring compliance with National agreements and HMRC requirements, and assisting with year-end tasks.

Qualifications

• Extensive payroll experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting a payroll system implementation or major payroll project is essential.
• Strong analytical skills with confidence reviewing, interpreting, and comparing payroll data.
• Solid knowledge of payroll and pension legislation, and HMRC requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills.

Responsabilités

• Support the implementation of a new payroll system, including parallel pay runs, data analysis, identifying discrepancies, improving processes, and contributing to training documentation.
• Process accurate end-to-end payroll across multiple contracts, ensuring compliance with National / Pay Agreements, rate changes, and back-pay requirements.
• Manage all payroll actions related to starters, leavers, adjustments, and perform peer audits to maintain accuracy and quality.
• Produce and review payroll reports, resolve payroll queries promptly, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and deadline adherence.
• Support year-end activities (Tax Year End, Benefits in Kind, P11Ds), maintain precise records, follow established payroll procedures, and keep up to date with payroll and pension legislation.

Salary: Up to £32,500 per year depending on experience
