Qualifications

Job description

Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Payroll Administrator to join our team. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a pro-rata salary of £11,056 per annum (£24,187 FTE).

About the Payroll Administrator role:

The payroll function at Royal Voluntary Service provides an end-to-end payroll service to employees. Ensuring that staff are paid correctly is the main priority of this support service.

You will plan, organise, coordinate, monitor, and carry out the processing of all payroll activities, ensuring all information is processed accurately in line with requirements, including balancing and closing the pay period.

Providing timely and accurate information to internal stakeholders as well as external organisations such as HMRC, pension providers, and other statutory bodies.

Previous payroll experience is essential for this role. Experience with Pento (UK Payroll) and HiBob Payroll and HR suites is especially desirable.

Hours:

16 hours per week with rota to be agreed with the successful candidate.

Location:

Home-based with occasional national travel.

What you'll bring:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including leadership, management, payroll providers, HMRC, and other government organisations.
  • Knowledge and experience with payroll and HRIS systems, particularly Pento and HiBob, are essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of payroll systems, taxation, national insurance rules, and pension scheme administration.
  • Ability to plan, organise, coordinate, monitor, and process end-to-end payroll, including balancing and closing pay periods.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and timeliness in payroll processing.
