About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Support the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Review and process timesheets, employee hours and attendance information, ensuring records are complete and accurate before payroll deadlines.
- Process basic hours, overtime, shift payments, allowances, absence and other applicable pay elements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and payroll records, including information relating to new starters, leavers, transfers and changes to working arrangements.
- Complete payroll checks, reconciliations and audits to identify missing, inconsistent or incorrect information.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies, establish the cause and support any required corrections or adjustments.
- Apply appropriate pay rates and entitlements in line with contractual arrangements and relevant National Working Agreements.
- Work closely with Commercial colleagues to ensure employee hours and associated labour costs are correctly recorded and allocated.
- Liaise with HR regarding employee information, contractual changes and other updates that may affect payroll.
- Work with site management and supervisors to resolve queries relating to attendance, hours, overtime, absence and missing information or authorisations.
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers, investigating issues and supporting them through to resolution.
- Maintain clear supporting documentation and audit trails, while handling confidential employee and payroll information appropriately.
- Identify recurring errors or process issues and contribute to improvements in payroll accuracy, controls and ways of working.
