Job summary

Panda Ireland is seeking a Payroll Administrator in Leeds to support accurate, timely payroll across multiple UK entities. You will work with the UK Payroll Manager, HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy, HMRC compliance and timely payroll runs.

The role requires attention to detail, strong data handling, and clear communication to resolve payroll queries efficiently. A collaborative team environment and exposure to multi-site payroll are offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a payroll administration or payroll processing role
  • Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight payroll deadlines
  • Proficient with Excel and data handling
  • Excellent communication skills to resolve payroll queries professionally
  • Collaborative approach to work within Payroll / Finance teams
  • Experience with Sage 50 Payroll or similar payroll system is desirable
  • Experience working with time and attendance systems would be beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Ensure payroll data is accurate, validated and ready for payment
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records and payroll spreadsheets
  • Process new starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Produce and issue P45 documentation
  • Update tax codes, student loan deductions and HMRC changes
  • Support PAYE, National Insurance, pension and statutory payroll submissions
  • Reconcile payroll reports and supply data to Finance for payroll funding
  • Assist with auto-enrolment and company pension scheme administration
  • Prepare pension reports and assist with pension payment submissions
  • Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP
  • Respond to employee payroll queries regarding pay, tax, deductions and pensions
  • Work with HR and Finance to maintain accurate payroll information
  • Assist with payroll variations such as salary changes and amendments
  • Help ensure payroll processes remain compliant with HMRC legislation and company procedures

Job description

Payroll Administrator

Location: Leeds

Department: Payroll / Finance

Reports to: UK Payroll Manager

As a Payroll Administrator at Panda, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of accurate and timely payroll across multiple UK entities.

Working closely with the UK Payroll Manager, HR teams and Finance, you will help ensure payroll data is maintained correctly, statutory requirements are met, and employees across the business are paid accurately each pay cycle.

This Payroll Administrator role would suit someone who enjoys working with detail, solving queries and maintaining accurate records within a busy payroll environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Ensuring payroll data is accurate, validated and ready for payment
  • Maintaining and updating employee payroll records and payroll spreadsheets
  • Processing new starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Producing and issuing P45 documentation
  • Updating tax codes, student loan deductions and statutory changes received from HMRC
  • Supporting PAYE, National Insurance, pension and statutory payroll submissions
  • Reconciling payroll reports and providing data to Finance to support payroll funding

  • Good Excel and data handling skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to resolve payroll queries professionally
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work well within a team
  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll or a similar payroll system would be desirable
  • Experience working with time and attendance systems would also be beneficial
