Job summary

TQR Consultancy Ltd is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a busy payroll team in Plymouth. You will deliver day-to-day payroll services with a focus on accuracy, compliance and timely processing.

You'll work closely with senior payroll colleagues, manage data entry, statutory payments and GDPR compliance, and assist with HMRC processes as required. A detail-oriented, proactive mindset is essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll administration within a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and data handling.
  • Proficient IT skills with advanced Excel capability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication across levels and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll activities, including statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, Tax, NI).
  • Support annual audit requirements and checks.
  • Assist with HMRC processes, PSA agreements and P11Ds (desirable).
  • Administer salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and payroll records.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and confidentiality.
  • Work to strict deadlines and payroll schedules.
  • Collaborate within the team and manage own workload.
  • Provide flexible support across general office duties when required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a fast-paced and growing organisation. This role sits within a busy payroll team and offers the chance to contribute to accurate and efficient payroll operations while supporting ongoing business growth.


About the Role

Working closely with senior payroll colleagues, you will support the day-to-day delivery of payroll services, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. This is a varied position suited to a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Process payroll activities, including statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, Tax, NI)

  • Support annual audit requirements and checks

  • Assist with HMRC processes, including PSA agreements and P11Ds (desirable)

  • Administer salary sacrifice schemes

  • Maintain accurate data entry and payroll records

  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality policies

  • Work to strict deadlines and payroll schedules

  • Collaborate effectively within the team while managing individual workload

  • Provide flexible support across general office duties when required


Experience with Zellis ResourceLink payroll software and UKG workforce management systems would be advantageous.


Person Specification


  • Previous experience in a payroll administration role within a team environment

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and data handling

  • Proficient in IT systems, including advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise across all levels

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting

  • Sound understanding of confidentiality and data protection (GDPR)

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise workload independently

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
