Job summary

Teya in London is seeking a Payments Operations Lead to unite payments and settlements into a single, well-controlled capability. You’ll own day-to-day processing, standardise runbooks, and manage relationships with banking and payment partners to ensure accurate, on-time payments.

The role is hands-on and growth-focused: you’ll drive automation and AI use, build repeatable processes, and shape how the capability scales as Teya grows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on payments operations experience, including SEPA, Faster Payments and SWIFT.
• Experience working with Treasury or Finance on funding and liquidity.
• Proven ability to own processes, fix problems and deliver outcomes in fast-moving environments.
• Strong stakeholder management across product, finance, compliance and operations.
• Comfortable with data, spreadsheets and automation/AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of payments and settlement operations and centralise them.
• Map current processes and create runbooks that do not rely on product team time.
• Run day-to-day payments and settlements and ensure timely transfers.
• Own relationship with banking and payment partners and track service levels.
• Collaborate with Treasury on funding and liquidity.
• Test and run payment rails with specialists.
• Put strong controls in place and manage incident handling.
• Use AI and automation to reduce manual work.
• Fix root causes to reduce merchant inquiries via the Teya app.
• Report operational performance weekly.
• Shape how the capability grows with scale.
