Job summary

SBS Skipton Building Society is seeking a Senior Product Owner for Payments to take strategic ownership of the Payments Platform, shaping its vision and roadmap and coordinating across product, engineering, operations, finance, risk, compliance and suppliers. You will drive resilience, visibility and future capability developments including Open Banking, ISO 20022 and payment hub evolution.

Qualifications

• Experience owning or shaping a complex payments platform or enterprise capability.
• Strong understanding of payments and financial services tech.
• Experience creating multi-year roadmaps balancing value, risk and modernization.
• Ability to connect legacy systems to future architecture with APIs, events and observability.
• Leadership and influencing skills across engineering, operations, finance, risk and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Own the mission, roadmap and performance of the Payments Platform.
• Define multi-year platform vision, roadmap, service catalogue and scorecard.
• Prioritise a platform backlog balancing member value, regulatory change and technical debt.
• Lead payment risk, security and regulatory readiness (PCI, COPE, ISO20022).
• Partner with product, engineering, operations, finance, risk and architecture to improve outcomes.
