Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking a Senior Product Owner - Payments to take strategic ownership of the Payments Platform. You will set the platform vision, define how services are consumed across the Society and collaborate with product, engineering, operations, finance, risk and supplier partners to balance resilience with innovation.

You'll lead multi-year roadmaps, champion modern engineering, and ensure regulatory readiness across areas such as PCI, Confirmation of Payee and ISO 20022,

Qualifications

• Experience owning or shaping a complex technology platform.
• Strong payments/financial services knowledge.
• Experience creating multi-year roadmaps balancing value, risk and modernization.
• Ability to connect legacy with future architecture using clear service boundaries, APIs and observability.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate a multi-year Payments Platform vision, roadmap, service catalogue and scorecard.
• Own payment domain standards including routing, data, events, reconciliation and control evidence.
• Prioritise a platform backlog balancing member value, regulatory change, resilience and technical debt.
• Lead payment risk, security and regulatory readiness across PCI, Confirmation of Payee and ISO 20022.
• Partner with product, engineering, operations, finance, risk, compliance and architecture teams to improve payment outcomes.
