Job summary

EMED Group is seeking a Patient Transport Liaison Officer to join our Countess of Chester Hospital site. The role focuses on bridging hospital operations and the transport team, handling escalations, bed crises, and patient flow coordination.

The PTLO will work within the flow room, participate in bed and site meetings, and act as a key contact for trusts. Full-time, permanent, Monday–Friday 10:00–18:00, with comprehensive staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Committed to patient care.
• Experience in a healthcare/hospital setting.
• Thorough knowledge of Non-Emergency Patient Transport services.
• Ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Check and plan daily and future bookings within the Cleric system, informing sub-contractors, taxis and volunteers.
• Maintain patient flow across control areas and liaise with hospital staff to resolve urgent issues.
• Attend ad-hoc meetings.
• Carry out general clerical duties including data input and invoicing.
• Maintain relationships with hospital wards, discharge lounges and bed managers.
• Forecast weekly activity with planning/control to anticipate peaks and troughs.
• Assist operational managers with day-to-day issues and respond to patient enquiries.
