Job summary

The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, part of Circle Health Group, is hiring a Patient Administrator on a Bank basis to support the administration team during busy periods. The role is offered on an as-and-when-required basis, with responsibilities across the patient journey and front-desk tasks.

Ideal candidates will have Maths/English GCSEs, good PC and data-entry skills, and the ability to manage a busy workload with accuracy and discretion.

Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSE A-C or equivalent
• Proficient in PC use, software and data entry
• Basic financial awareness
• Previous administration experience
• Ability to manage workload and prioritise
• Front of house/customer experience
• Hospital experience desirable

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the smooth running of the patient administrative process throughout the patient journey.
• Ensure best practice process maps are followed to provide a standard service to patients, visitors, consultants and staff.
• Ensure all patient queries are dealt with efficiently and professionally.
• Manage all incoming and outgoing mail.
• Approve electronic bookings and update bookings received via email.
• Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.
