Job description

Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic nurse or therapist with the necessary skills, experience, and vision to work within our busy intermediate care team. Based in the South East Essex area, this team facilitates hospital discharge and prevents avoidable admissions by working with our Virtual Frailty Ward and community and acute providers.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a Band 6 or Band 7 nurse, depending on experience, to join our team. Candidates should have experience working within a multidisciplinary environment, demonstrate a commitment to effective team working, and preferably have community setting experience.

If you are passionate about intermediate care, interested in patient discharge and admission avoidance, and looking for a challenge, we would love to hear from you. The role involves weekend working. After completing necessary competencies, there is potential to progress to a Band 7 role unless you are applying with the relevant experience to start directly at Band 7. This position offers excellent development opportunities at the intersection of community and secondary care.

Working for our organisation

EPUT values Care, Learn, and Empower. We offer a range of benefits and development opportunities, including:

  • Season Ticket Loans
  • NHS staff discounts
  • Excellent training facilities and opportunities
  • Buying and Selling annual leave scheme
  • Opportunity to work bank shifts and expand experience
  • Salary Sacrifice schemes, including lease cars and Cycle to Work
  • Day One Flexible Employer

We support flexible working options from day one. If appointed, you can request flexible working arrangements.

Join our Staff bank

The EPUT NHS staff bank hires clinical and non-clinical staff for shifts at our hospitals and community settings. All permanent staff are enrolled automatically, with no obligation to work extra shifts unless desired. If joining in a fixed-term role, indicate your interest in the staff bank on your paperwork.

Please note: Staff at risk within the organisation will be prioritized for alternative employment. If a post is deemed suitable alternative employment, it may be withdrawn from NHS Jobs.
