DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician passionate about giving life in an outpatient dialysis center. Joining DaVita as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) offers an exciting start in healthcare. With paid, extensive training, you'll develop the skills needed to care for patients and connect with healthcare professionals across your region. After training, you'll join a dedicated team of nurses, dietitians, social workers, and experienced PCTs to provide comprehensive care. Position Details

• No dialysis experience required.
• Training may occur at a facility or training clinic different from your assigned clinic.
• Potential to float to various clinics during and after training.
• Must have a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You Can Expect

• Direct Patient Care: Spend most of your day providing one-on-one care to ensure safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
• Multiple Patient Care: Manage care for several patients.
• Technician Duties: Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring stats, observing patients, and setting up hemodialysis machines. Note: Exposure to blood and needles is possible.
• Building Relationships: Develop long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease, typically receiving treatment three times a week. Educate patients on dialysis-related topics.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with a cross-functional team including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under the supervision of an RN.

Requirements

• Desire to serve others in healthcare.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort working around blood and needles.
• Ability to mix acid or bicarb.
• Physical and mental stamina for long hours (some shifts over 12 hours) on your feet—wear comfortable shoes! Our work ends when it's safe for patients.
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics as needed.
• Healthcare experience such as BONENT Certification, CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy is a plus.
