Job description

Job Description:

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician who is looking to give life in an outpatient dialysis center. You can make an exceptional difference in the lives of our patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. Do you desire to deliver care in an empathetic, compassionate way - the way you'd want your own care to be?

Joining DaVita as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) is an exciting opportunity to jump start your career in the healthcare industry! With paid, extensive training, you will gain the skills needed to care for our patients and build a network of other healthcare professionals across your region. Once you have successfully completed training, you will join a team of care professionals – including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other PCTs – to care for our patients. It's not just a job, it's a career based on passion and purpose.

Our PCTs also find DaVita professionally fulfilling. We offer clear paths to higher responsibility and compensation through our Clinical Ladders program. Through DaVita's Bridge to your Dreams program, teammates who have been in their role for six consecutive months and are in good standing, are eligible for tuition assistance to pursue their goal of becoming a DaVita RN and obtaining an associate’s degree in nursing. Your success is driven by your performance and desire.

Some details about this position:
  • No Dialysis experience required. We provide all necessary training!
  • Training will occur in a facility or training clinic other than your assigned home clinic.
  • You must be able to float to various clinics during and after training.
  • A flexible schedule is required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays – we are closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
What you can expect:
  • Direct Patient Care: Spend most of your day providing safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment through one-on-one patient care.
  • Handling multiple patients and monitoring them before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring stats, observing patients, and machine setup. Note: You will have exposure to blood and needles.
  • Building long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease, receiving treatment approximately 3 times/week, and educating them on dialysis-related topics.
  • Working as part of a cross-functional team including clinicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under RN supervision.
  • Career growth opportunities, including earning your National Certification as a Hemodialysis Technician.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Ability to mix acid or bicarb.
  • Physical and mental stamina for long shifts (10-12 hours) on your feet; comfortable shoes recommended.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory.
  • Stable employment history demonstrating commitment.
  • Healthcare experience (e.g., CNA, CMA, Phlebotomy certification) is highly preferred.
What we'll provide:
  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, and PTO cash out.
  • Support for you and your family: resources, counseling, Headspace access, backup care, parental leave, pet insurance, and more.
  • Paid training.

DaVita is a clinical leader with high standards in patient care and quality improvement. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, striving to be a community where everyone belongs. We are an equal opportunity employer. Applications are accepted continuously.
