Job summary

Gateshead Health is seeking an Associate Practitioner to support pathology research across Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside. You will work in a team of Biomedical Scientists and support workers, rotating through sites and contributing to research activities.

Applicants should have a science qualification or substantial lab experience, and must be able to work flexible shifts including nights. DBS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Working towards a level 4 science qualification or substantial laboratory experience with alternative qualifications.
• Previous Biomedical laboratory/NHS experience.
• Eligible for Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).

Responsibilities

• Participate in laboratory rotations across South of Tyne and Wear Pathology Services sites.
• Assist in maintenance and preparation of reagents and equipment as per SOPs.
• Support the 24/7 service, including late shifts and night work as required.
